CCTV cameras from nearby store help jail Yankee Candle crook
CCTV cameras located at a nearby store have help to capture a prolific crook, after he was caught smashing and grabbing from a Nottinghamshire shop door before making off with over £1,000 worth of Yankee Candles.
The Yankee Candle is extremely popular and available in all different sizes and scents and can be purchased along with many other candle accessories. The Yankee Candle Company was founded 47 years ago by Michael Kittredge from Massachusetts and their products are now sold online and in gift shops in around 50 countries across the world.

Lee Barratt, aged 35, from Caledonian Road, Retford, used a hammer to smash through the front door of the Clinton’s card shop in Nottingham sometime during the night between July 1 and July 2. He then grabbed some of the popular scented candles and ran away.
Police managed to capture Barratt after he left the hammer with his DNA on in the store, on the counter and from CCTV images captured by a nearby shop, which show him running away from the card shop with another man.
He was arrested on July 3 after police managed to track down another burglar who ran away from the same store carrying a bag. Barrett was found at the address on Watson Road, Worksop, along with a large number of the candles.
Barrett denied stealing the candles at first but in court he changed his plea to guilty and was given an eight month sentence. However, a further eight weeks were added because he was already serving a suspended prison sentence at the time of the robbery.
He already has 33 convictions for 84 offences, 43 of which are for theft and similar offences.
